A bit about me

I’m a fully qualified and ANP registered nutritional therapist, having graduated with distinction in a Level 6 Diploma in nutritional therapy. I undertook my supervised clinical hours in clinic in Manchester but I now work in North Wales, with in-person clinics available in Menai Bridge and Llandudno. I can also offer online consultations via Zoom, so if you’re not based in North Wales, I can still support you.

I’m able to support clients at any time of life - from childhood and teen nutrition, fertility and pregnancy planning (for women or men), pregnancy, men’s health, female hormonal balance including issues with PMS and cycle issues, perimenopause and menopause, those looking for support over 50. Some of my professional interests include:

  • Digestive health and the human microbiome, including nutritional support for reflux, bloating, IBS and coeliac disease

  • Supporting female hormone health

  • Childhood and teen health

  • Supporting skin health

  • Supporting metabolic health including diabetes support

  • Weight management including support for those on weight-loss jabs

My approach

So how does it all work?

My goal is to be with you on this journey – to guide and support you on the path to improved health and wellbeing through nutrition.  I’m a realist and I know every client has their own strengths and challenges when it comes to making changes to diet and lifestyle – I work with you, the person, to pull together something that you can find success with.  All my recommendations are based on the latest research and best practice.  You won’t find any fad diets or ‘bro science’ here – just eating the right way specifically for you and your unique requirements.  Dietary recommendations are always tailored to an individual client – I’ll be assessing if you have any nutrient deficiencies or even just lower levels that might be preventing you from achieving optimal health.

The first thing I do is ask you to complete a comprehensive pre-consultation questionnaire and a 3-day diet diary.  I spend a lot of time working through these prior to our first consultation so it’s important you get as much information in here as possible.  I’m trained to identify potential deficiencies, interactions between medications and nutritional supplements, and to analyze any test results you might already have, so the more information the better.

Your first consultation is very comprehensive – I take your full case history, working through every system in the body, noting symptoms and medical history, a full review of your diet and eating habits, your lifestyle habits, levels of stress, sleep quality etc.  Following this, I pull together a plan tailored for you – with a dietary protocol, and lifestyle recommendations.  I try to focus on food first, but I do sometimes recommend supplements too if I think they may support you in the short-medium term.  Longer term, we are always aiming to get what we need from our food!  Likewise, there may be times I recommend functional testing – it’s up to you if you go ahead with testing, as this is an additional cost for clients.

I like to follow-up our initial consultation with a 20 minute run through of the protocol – this is so I can explain my rationale for various elements and you can ask any questions – the aim is for you to feel you have full understanding and are confident to make a start.  This is done on Zoom.

Follow ups are shorter consultations and are a way to track any changes/improvements/test results and check in on all your successes and challenges.  Following this, I will pull together an updated protocol based on any new information/changes since our initial consultation. Like I say, I intend to hold your hand through this journey, so these follow-ups are a key element of my support. You will also have access to a confidential client portal, where we can share information and I can check in on your progress.

I’m trained in naturopathic nutritional therapy and am a qualified naturopathic nutritional therapist, so I’m able to draw on elements of naturopathy also, if a client is looking for this.  Naturopathic nutritional therapy is a very holistic approach – with a focus on whole organic foods to support healing, focusing on root causes of health concerns, rather than symptoms.  It combines up-to-date nutritional science with more ancient traditional approaches such as ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine’s focus on the energetics of food (an understanding of how foods affect the body and ensuring foods are chosen based on their cooling, warming, moistening or drying effects – a way to balance physical and emotional health).
